Flowers, Flowers and More Flowers

January is always such a gloomy time of year. Brown grass.  Dirty snow.  Short days.  And really, really cold out!  So I thought I would share with you some colorful floral shots to brighten your day.
When traveling, I love to see how different countries make their deliveries and arrange their flower stands.  This mini truck was loaded to the gills in Rome.
The flower stand in Rome was just getting ready for the Halloween season.
A flower shop in Luca, Italy.
A vender in a plaza in Luca.
This gentleman always makes a stop at my home in San Miguel de Allende.  Pretty nice.

And talk about going Green.   A man delivering flowers in London!

Weddings Galore

Christmas is a wonderful time of year to be in San Miguel de Allende.  The town and the churches were all decorated for the holidays but there is something else that is special this time of year.  There are weddings galore!  I was told that many of the men working in the states return over Christmas to visit their families and to get married.
Above, this SUV was decorated back, front and sides with beautiful flower arrangements.
I bet the VW Thing has never looked so good.
Talk about an elegant way to arrive at the church!
The interior of the San Francisco church.
The interior of the Parroquia church right on the jardin, the main square.  I love how all the churches were decorated for Christmas.
One of the brides with her bridesmaids.

One of the many couples waiting their turn to be married in the Parroquia.
This little girl was taking her job of holding the brides train very seriously!
One of the many young gals heading into the church for one of the weddings.  And most of them were wearing at least four inch heels.  I don't know how they can walk especially on all the cobblestone sidewalks and streets.
The wedding party on the steps of the San Rafael with the ten mariachis in the background.  My friend Guadalupe who owns Penzi in San Miguel orchestrated this wedding.  She always does a top notch job.  Check out her website at www.smapenzi.com.
The afternoon light in San Miguel is just fabulous!
A wedding would not be complete without the Mojiganga bride and groom (see my post dated August 16, 2010 to read more about the Mojigangas)

What a fancy dress!  And the two little bridesmaids on the right certainly had some full petty coats on.
Everyone in the wedding party was given a little ceramic cup.  Tequila is then poured for all the guests.  I wonder if this cute bridesmaids had any.....
It was a fun day watching all the wedding parties come and go!
